“Cota spins a dramatic tale from what is essentially just the mental processing of a midlife crisis… this story is a tender reminder that transformations are often invisible to the outside world. Seldom have narrative voice and message come together so consistently to craft a story that’s told exactly as you would imagine this odd character would tell it.” — Kirkus Reviews

“I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Gerry Cota’s The Room Already There to readers who enjoy literary fiction or contemporary fiction with an underlying philosophical theme. This unusual story got me thinking on a deeper level. I can see myself rereading it in the future and gaining new insights as I go along.” — Ada Jenkins, Reader Views
